Strikes in France

Sat Nov 17, 2007, 4:37 AM
Since last wednesday, there's a railway strike in france, especially in the suburbs of Paris where I live. I'm traditionaly as supportive as it can be with it, since it's very common in my country as Stephen Clarkes said it in his books, and also because i'm a firm socialist.

But I begin to be a litle annoyed and simply exhausted by the whole thing. yesterday, It took me 3 hours an a half to rich my house... To explain why people are striking is hard....because it's a typically french problem.

Some workers , especially in the railways, have a different and very attactive system of retirement, since SNCF (national company of railway) has been a national business. They want to keep it; government wants to equalize all the systems.

This is only a part of a larger question: How long people have to work to have a suitable retirement ?
